So what does the name mean?
koinōnia: (Johnston County: Coin-o-nia)
A relation between individuals which involves a common interest and a mutual, active participation in that interest and in each other.
As followers of Christ, we are called not only to have a covenant relationship with the Lord, but to be a part of the Body of Christ that we are brought into when we are saved. It is through this community that we see the Lord working in our sanctification, that we are able to use our spiritual gifts, we receive support from the body, and we grow in our walk with the Lord. We believe we cannot do the work of the Body of Christ unless we are dedicated to this Koinonia.
Reformed: The reformed part of our name refers to what is called “Reformed Theology”.
Reformed Theology, like many other different kinds of theology, is a system that seeks to describe the truths of the Bible in a systematic way. However, if a person is going to sum up what Reformed Theology is, it would suffice to say that Reformed Theology teaches and emphasizes the sovereignty of God in all things.
Baptist: We are unashamedly part of the Southern Baptist Convention, and participate in the National and State of NC convention. We are also a member of the Triangle East Baptist Association.
As Baptists, we believe that we have been called by Christ to baptize believers who have professed faith in Jesus Christ, and are walking with the Lord. We believe that conversion precedes baptism.
